As part of the special occasion Betty Ford’s “bloomers” have
been put on temporary display. Given to Mrs. Ford by friends
on the White House staff when she requested a flag for her automobile,
the flag makes reference to her support of the Equal Rights Amendment
(ERA) and her maiden name, Bloomer.
